As trainers, we don't follow maps to buried treasure and attaining what we seek is never so easy as finding an X that marks the spot, as Indiana Jones so memorably told his students in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. As a professor, Indy's long lectures were dusty, pedagogical, dry-showstoppers in the most negative sense. Only his rugged good looks kept female students awake.
Yet, the harrowing adventures through history with Indy have us willingly paying millions of dollars to watch him find that hidden treasure.
In the bold spirit of Harrison Ford, our 2012 annual Training and Learning Conference theme is Indiana Bob and the Kingdom of Crystal Clear Training. However, we have more in our educational arsenal than Indy ever had.
Participant-centered training-training where learners are interacting with the material often and not just listening-is one weapon against boredom which opens up a whole new educational adventure for trainer and learner which includes increased material retention and enthusiasm for the material while decreasing stress all around!
Attending this year's conference will reinforce material you may have gleaned in the past from our workshops while providing new information and techniques for creating interactive mlearning, converting classroom material to online formats effectively, integrating audience-response systems into the classroom and more from The Bob Pike Group trainers as well as guest faculty.
If you have never attended a workshop by The Bob Pike Group, come to our conference and experience the adrenaline rush of an amazing alternative to lecture-based training. At this year's conference, we are offering 38 different sessions and four certificate programs in Delivery, Design, Virtual Training and Facilitation. This conference also gives you an intimate opportunity to network with The Bob Pike Group training consultants outside of the classroom, a valuable opportunity no other conference offers.
Join us this fall and hear the Grail knight say, "You have chosen wisely."
